If you’re a pre-MBA student or recent graduate, securing your dream job is no simple task. After you have sent in your resume and passed the initial screenings you will be questioned several questions about your background as well as your work experience and skills. One of the most important interviews you’ll get is with an investor, who will decide whether or not to invest in your business idea. Preparing for these interviews can make it easier to pass the interview and get you the funding you need.
How big do you envision the market for your product?
This question is a way for the investor to gauge how much potential there is for your company. They will be looking to determine how large the market is for your tech data security products and services, and how you plan to tap into it. Be sure to be realistic and ambitious in your projections.
What do you consider to be the biggest threats and challenges facing your business?
While no business is without its risks investors will be curious to know how you plan to deal with them. Having a solid plan for the future can show that you are confident in your ability to expand the business and make it profitable.
Do some research about the investor prior to your interview. This will provide you with a better understanding of what their interests are as well as what kind of companies they’ve previously invested in and how they prefer to work with entrepreneurs. You can also look for interviews they’ve done in print or online, where they discuss their investment philosophy and the qualities they’re looking for in a business.
